FAQs
This varies depending on type of vehicle and how many windows are being tinted. For example, most four door sedans take 3-4 hours from start to finish. Installing window tint on the front two windows of a truck or SUV takes about 1 hour. If a full windshield, sunstrip or a layer over the dyed privacy glass is added then it will add time to the installation. Window tint also has a curing process, we like for the vehicle to sit outside in the sunlight for a few minutes, then do a final detail before we deliver the finished product.
We actually prefer to say we have same day turn around. Our shops operate best when the vehicles are dropped off. We like to have 3-4 morning drop offs that are completed by mid afternoon and then 3-4 noon drop offs that are completed by closing. We will call you once your vehicle is completed. We do have a nice lobby and waiting area but 3-5 hours is still a long wait. We know everyone can not drop off their vehicles just let us know if you plan on waiting so we can adjust our schedule.
Tint Pro offers generalized pricing for standard vehicles, meaning all four door sedans are priced the same, all two door coupes are priced the same and so on. Our pricing is also all exclusive, meaning the price given is the final price, all tax and installation is already included. We do offer four different styles of window tint that carry different values. All films are the LLumar brand but are separated by technology and performance. We have all products on display in the showroom and will go over all options once you arrive. We do not charge more for the actual shade or darkness level of the film, that is your choice. Each vehicle has a wide range of prices to choose with option of add on such as sunstrips or full windshields.
Note: Certain year, make and model vehicles may be subject to price differences. For example, C6 Corvettes are extremely difficult to tint and therefor carry special pricing. Other vehicles on the list include but not limited to, Teslas, VW Bugs, Porsche 944, Crown Vics, Saturn S Series, Chevy Beretta, 4th Gen Camaros, over cab box trucks, 18 wheelers, RVs, Classics, Antiques, or any vehicle over 20 years old.
Window tint is installed on the inside of the vehicle, we need access to the rear windows and front windshields. Not a deal breaker but if you want to remove items prior to drop off it will be appreciated. Baby seats and booster seats will not be reinstalled by our technicians.
The main goal of a tinter is to get the film installed with out contaminates between the film and glass. We provide a clean environment for installation by filtering the air and water, we also prep the glass before installation. If the car has excessive pet dander or dirt then it makes our job more challenging. You don't have to clean the glass or the car but if you would like to you can. The cleaner we begin the cleaner we end.
Tint Pro does not offer mobile tinting for vehicles. We have built a clean room and environment for installations. We run dual air filtration system, water filtration, 90,000 lumens of light and we computer cut the window tint. When you tint outside or mobile then you increase the risk of contaminates getting between the film and glass. This would result in the installation not being up to our standards. If you see our squad of vehicles roaming around town these are our residential and commercial glass tinters.
Absolutely, we have an entire crew dedicated to tinting residential and commercial windows. It is a product specially made for residential and commercial windows, you can not put automotive window tint on home or office windows and vice versa. Huge benefits from tinting home windows include, energy savings, sun damage prevention, glare control, privacy, and increased comfort.
We will not tint a vehicle if you have attempted to remove the tint yourself and done a poor job at it. Tint Pro has special tools and technics to remove the film properly to assure a quality reinstallation. Window tint can come apart in layers, tear or leave old glue behind that will compromise the next installation. Removal is priced on condition of old film and how difficult it is to remove. Every type or manufacture of film removes in a different way, age and level of deterioration determine the difficulty.
Main concern is normally rear windows that contain defroster lines. It is rare but occasionally the film is so old, brittle, cheap, or too difficult to remove the best option is to replace the rear window or loose the defroster lines by scraping with razor blade. We will always give you options before proceeding.
Installing new window tint will not damage defroster lines, unless they are already compromised. Believe it or not we have seen new vehicles with poor quality defroster lines. Defroster lines are applied to glass using a process close to screen printing. Occasionally there are flaws in the defroster lines from the manufacture. Other than rare cases of manufactures defects, damage to defroster lines happens on removal of old tint. Hundreds of tint manufactures in the world, not all of them are built with quality in mind. Cheap window tint will bubble, color fade, or peel. Even with the best equipment and technics for removal of old tint the defroster lines may still be compromised. This is why it is so important to buy a good quality window tint like LLumar the first time.
